It sounds like you are in amazing shape!! Running 5K is pretty impressive - I'd take a guess that most of the population isn't able to do so!! Best of luck with your goals, it sounds like you are on the path to accomplishing what you want to (and the stomach bug definitely doesn't hurt, either ;. Although not the most fun way to accomplish that weight loss, I guess)

Well, first I wish you the best of luck! You are a very strong person or so it seems... so you will probably hit all your targets. I think sometimes we just need to find that thing that clicks and it happens.

As for the stomach virus...lol. Sorry to hear that, but yes, one good stomach virus a year is a great balancer. lol. Same for kidney infections that land you in the hospital. ONly those are more expensive. lol. Feel better soon!

Please let me know how you like WW. I've used the online tools before with some success, but I think these days I'd need the discipline of showing up and getting weighed. Now that the babe is nearing a year, I'm thinking it's time to get serious about dropping some weight. I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve (like starting to exercise and stop eating whole family size bags of candy), but for me a vague "try to eat less" plan never really works.

Crap...that sucks, but is awesome at the same time! Dieting without the feeling of deprivation unless you count feeling deprived of oxygen as you hang over the toilet. Hope you're feeling much better...that's crazy timing for you!

Love this post. I did WW back in 1998 after I gained the Freshman Fifteen. I giggled too...it was sorta mortifying but also motivating, especially paying them my hard earned $$ and going to meetings on my summer vacation. Results were a MUST. Still more fun to discuss is the time I was put on Amoxicillin for a sinus infection and hurled for days. I swear I lost so much weight, LOL. Faster than any diet, indeed.

I have tried not to be "scale-focused", but when the pants in my closet stop fitting, that's when I know it's time to ramp up the weight loss.

Listen, young lady, you take care of the gorgeous you. Weight? SIZE? Important, perhaps. But for anyone who can run a 5k and not die? I'm not so sure that the weight is that great an issue.

As for me, the day of the female stick figure as Goddess image is long gone. Give me a woman I can HUG without fear of breaking her.
